Our customers are companies with a global outlook that have a similar structure to that of MANN+HUMMEL. This includes our customer AGCO, one of the ‘global players’ in the agricultural field. The AGCO group includes renowned agricultural machinery brands such as FENDT, Massey Ferguson, Valtra and Challenger.
AGCO invited its distributors to an Aftersales Forum in Coventry, held over several days, in order to fill them in on all aspects of their product range and brands. One of the stands was dedicated – exclusively to filtration, and included videos and presentations. In the past, filtration product managers representing the customer had participated in our in-house training events.
This time round, AGCO invited us to support them by bringing our expertise to their in-house trade fair. We had the opportunity to demonstrate the features of our specialised agricultural filters in person at the stand, to an interested and knowledgeable audience. The questions and feedback we received from the experts showed us that we are clearly headed in the right direction and that the solutions offered by MANN+HUMMEL bear direct relevance to our customers’ requirements. As always, the highly sophisticated maintenance concept of our air filters drew particular praise.
Our customers, too, have to battle against counterfeit products, as substandard reproductions can also damage the reputation of their brand. In the long term, machine operators in possession of counterfeits also have to deal with breakdowns and the resulting costs. There were some specialist presentations at the trade fair, with a focus on ‘original parts’, and we were able to make use of our specialist MANN+HUMMEL knowledge to give several talks on the subject. We were allocated around 30% of the total program time for talks.
Under the heading ‘Filtration around agricultural machines’, we gave an overview of all of our filter products that are relevant to agricultural machinery, with a particular focus on the aftermarket and how to protect it. Our customer brought along some of the fakes that they are confronted with on the market. It is simply shocking what criminal organisations will palm off on to end customers. We were able to help our distributors to hone their awareness of quality aftermarket products, and equip them with the necessary arguments to employ in their conversations with end users.
The Aftersales Forum further cemented our long-standing customer relationship and is yet another milestone in our trusting partnership. We will keep you updated with a further blog article. This professionally organised trade fair had one very special surprise for us in the form of a quintessentially English event: Horse racing! This was shown live on large screens in the hall. We found it ‘really rather exciting’!
