Since I started my internship in March 2013, the International Motor Show 2013 has been an everyday part of my work. In a few days, it will be time for MANN+HUMMEL to present its products under the motto “Leadership in Filtration” at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt.
Since I was fortunate enough to be involved in the project during the entire preparation period, it should come as no surprise that I am extremely excited about the end result. How will the visitors react to our stand design? Will the exhibits and the new animation for the three-stage water separation be as informative as we imagined? What will our customers and the entire MANN+HUMMEL team think of the latest issue of our sales bulletin “Automotive News” and the new image brochure? Will they be as impressed with them as we are? These are the kinds of questions that are going through my head at the moment.
IAA 2013 – a project not just about event marketing
During my time at MANN+HUMMEL I have been fortunate enough to work on all of this and much more. I know just how much sweat and commitment went into each and every component, which is why I always come to the same conclusion: our customers and colleagues are all going to be delighted!
Being able to contribute to such a large-scale project was a great experience. It has also given me a thorough insight into the company as a whole. After all, projects like the International Motor Show are not just about event marketing, rather they involve a wide variety of tasks involving all departments. We had to answer all the challenges as one unified team. Of course, this was sometimes easier said than done – but in the end it meant that the outcome was extremely impressive.
Teamwork between marketing and product management is always an exciting undertaking because when we showcase our products, both aspects obviously need to work together.
The sound shower, which is just one of the many highlights that I would like to mention, is an excellent example of a successful combination of marketing and technology.
But before I give too much away, I would invite you to visit us at the International Motor Show 2013 at Stand F02 in Hall 8 and see for yourself just how great our products and our company are.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my department (product management and product marketing within the automotive original equipment division) for a magnificent time and for the many opportunities that I have been given as part of my internship. I look forward to an exciting finale to my internship at the International Motor Show 2013 and to the rest of my time at MANN+HUMMEL.
