Apprentice project: thinking outside the box

Since the start of 2018, alongside the ‘normal’ training content, apprentices at MANN+HUMMEL have been taking part in a cross-location collaborative project. Ludwigsburg-based trainer, Nils Florian Kranich, and I came up with the idea for this last autumn. Our goal is to encourage apprentices from across our different locations to share their experiences with one another.

Apprenticeships achieve results

Faced with a shortage of skilled tool and die makers, an in-house, four year-tool and die apprentice training program was set up in 2015 by MANN+HUMMEL Purolator in Fayetteville, North Carolina. In partnership with the state apprenticeship agency and the local community college, graduates are certified tool and die journeymen upon completion.

Bobby car race for a good cause

When more than 50 adults came hurtling down Bernhardstraße in Sonneberg on small red Bobby cars this summer, it wasn’t just for fun! The event was also in aid of a good cause: the revenue from entry fees and Bratwurst sales were given to a family of five to realise their dream of buying a new used car.

ESC600 a big hit with shipping industry

The new ESC600 Easy Service Centrifuge was showcased on MANN+HUMMEL’s stand at this year’s SMM trade fair in Hamburg. SMM is the leading fair for the maritime industry and regularly attracts around 50,000 visitors over a four-day period. ESC600 is the first in a new generation of Centrifuge products from MANN+HUMMEL UK in Chard.
