Automechanika opens its doors again for five days in Frankfurt Main and I myself am very pleased that things are finally getting started. Every two years we meet with the great and the good of the international automotive parts industry at this trade fair. At our MANN-FILTER stand in hall 3, we are placing ourselves in a prominent position in the shop window for the global automotive replacement parts trade. For the first time ever, the WIX-FILTRON stand in hall 5 will be part of the overall MANN+HUMMEL presence.
We will naturally be giving our undivided attention to our customers travelling to Frankfurt from all over the world to find out about the latest developments and trends in our industry. However, we have also identified parts distributors who do not (yet) have MANN-FILTER products on their shelves as one of our key target groups. Visitors to Automechanika generally spend several days in Frankfurt rushing from stand to stand and from one supplier to the next. We are very keen to stand out in the visitors’ memories and to encourage an interest in MANN-FILTER over the long term.
If I have counted correctly, this is my eleventh Automechanika and at each trade fair appearance I am continually inspired to see us going from strength to strength as a team. A great deal of professional work and commitment is clearly delivered in the background by sales and marketing. Immediately before and during the trade fair many colleagues work tirelessly behind the scenes, both day and night no doubt, to ensure that everything runs smoothly during the most important days of the year. There are always minor mishaps along the way, but they usually remain our secret 😉 We aim to achieve a maximum level of performance which we at MANN-FILTER can be particularly proud of.
This year we are really going to prove our capabilities. We communicate our MANN-FILTER brand promises via our two unusual core marketing messages, ‘Welcome to Perfection’ and ‘Perfect Service has a Home’.
During Automechanika, hundreds of scheduled customer meetings will take place at our trade fair stand. Rigorous preparation prior to these meetings and a professional-looking stand underpin our success at the trade fair. I have almost 50 customer meetings scheduled across the four days, many ad hoc conversations plus four major events and the daily team briefing in the morning.
Trade fair days are both exhausting and inspiring for me in equal measure. I acquire immeasurable amounts of up-to-the-minute information through the many conversations I get to have with our customers. I love this positive type of stress – I am usually at my best in those situations.
Our business continues to be heavily influenced by personal interactions. ‘Business is people’ – and there is nowhere better to experience this for yourself than at the largest automotive parts trade fair in the world.
I am also looking forward to our MANN-FILTER stand party today in the evening. This is when we celebrate with our long-standing business partners, put the tough customer-supplier discussions to one side and enjoy a lovely late summer evening with a glass of wine. Of course, this evening is also an opportunity to show our guests what MANN-FILTER stands for: Perfect parts. Perfect service.
