The 35th annual „Borgess Run for the Health of It“ will take place on Sunday, May 4, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Each year, thousands of runners from all 50 US states and several other countries line up to be a part of one of the six races that Borgess offers. The event includes a kids fun run, a five kilometers walk, a five kilometers run, a ten kilometres run, a half marathon and a full marathon.
Borgess Run for the Health of It
MANN+HUMMEL USA has participated in the Borgess Run for the Health of It since 2011, when we had just 26 runners and walkers participate. In 2012, participation increased and we introduced a new logo for this event called “The Swarm Running Bee” that is now used for our race t-shirts. Last year, MANN+HUMMEL USA honored the victims of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing with their shirt design that was worn proudly by more than 40 participants.
New record in participation
This year, we are anticipating about 50 people to represent MANN+HUMMEL at the races, this includes employees as well as their families. This is the most participation we’ve had so far!
For the 2014 races, MANN+HUMMEL USA has partnered with Purolator to be a race sponsor for the first time. As a sponsor, we get our company name on the race website, a banner at the finish line, and a tent on race day to display signs and give away snacks, drinks, and MANN+HUMMEL promotional items to racers. The event brings about 8,500 racers and countless spectators, so this is a great opportunity to get the MANN+HUMMEL name out in our community.
The Borgess Run for the Health of It is an event that our employees look forward to every year as an opportunity to get fit and have fun! We hope to continue this tradition for many years to come. Be sure to check back for an update on how the races went in mid-May!
