Dwight Hsieh is working as a Country Manager in the Taiwanese Capital of Taipei. He and his colleagues are trying to expand business  for MANN+HUMMEL in Asia:

‘My daily work here in Taiwan is divided in two parts. One part is visiting the customers. Our aim is to build up new relationships with customers in Taiwan and to tie up our bonds with customers that already exist. The other part are my management duties, because I work with two colleagues here in Taiwan and report back to MANN+HUMMEL Singapore.

Taiwan Team

MANN+HUMMEL Taiwan: Perfect parts. Perfect Service.

When I visit customers, I have the MANN+HUMMEL and MANN-FILTER slogan “Perfect parts. Perfect service.” in mind. We don’t just sell products, we also offer our services. Our OE customers have facilities in China, Brazil, Vietnam, Thailand and so on. Wherever our customers are, I make sure to visit them.

After five years of development, our representative office in Taiwan is covering most of the product groups of the MANN+HUMMEL family. OEM business is difficult. Our OEM makers in Taiwan are compressor manufacturers, who are active all around the world and have significant potential. They push us to deliver varying specifications to meet their price requirements for the competitive markets they operate in. The key challenge is to convince our customers of the outstanding quality of the MANN+HUMMEL products. In many cases, we can not and do not want to compete on price.

But we have done a good job in the automotive sector in the last years and now we are trying to expand into new fields, like EDM filters, centrifuges, and other industrial applications. About one and half years ago, the situation was challenging, but now it is time to harvest our investments. We have placed the seeds and now we are ready to pick up management meetings with potential customers and talk about business models for the upcoming future. The light is almost there at the end of the tunnel.

Being part of the family at MANN+HUMMEL Taiwan

We are growing our business in Taiwan, and in turn the resource that we have to service our market is also growing. Now a team of three, we are well placed to meet the current requirements of our customers, in our very dynamic market.

Last but not least, I would like to express my pride in being part of the MANN+HUMMEL family. In terms of landscape, Taiwan is just a small market. But we are willing to boost sales there and are always happy when colleagues from other countries are visiting our office in Taipei.’
