I have to admit that I entered MANN+HUMMEL ‘Day One’ with a lot of mixed emotions. I have been part of the Tri-Dim family for over 25 years and as I get older, I find that I do not like change. Therefore, I entered August 31st with some uneasiness and also a sense of sadness that the Stanley era at Tri-Dim Filter Corporation had officially come to an end.

In the days following ‘Day One,’ I had the opportunity to meet many MANN+HUMMEL colleagues during their visits to Virginia, as part of the PMI (Post-Merger Integration) process. I can say without exception that they were all very friendly and frequently stopped to interact with others throughout the office as they passed through. The best part has been becoming part of the Intelligent Air Solutions (IAS) Marketing and Communication Team! It has been a pleasure to work with so many professional team members.

First trade fair since the merger

We had a great team effort in mid-January, as Tri-Dim and MANN+HUMMEL exhibited as one team at the AHR EXPO in Atlanta – our first joint trade show since the acquisition. As the world’s largest HVAC marketplace, attended by approximately 50,000 attendees, this was a perfect venue to showcase our products and unite as one team. Since this was the first trade show since the merger, it was critical that we conveyed the proper message to our customers, as well as our competitors. Kathrin Sauter, my Marketing colleague from MANN+HUMMEL, and I had been planning the optimal booth layout, messaging and display contents since before ‘Day One.’ Our messages were well-received by our customers attending the show, and it was great to show the HVAC industry what a powerhouse the MANN+HUMMEL/Tri-Dim Filter Corporation team has become since joining forces.

In addition, we have begun to work with MANN+HUMMEL’s digital air filtration solutions to create additional value for our customers.  These are definitely exciting times and, to be honest the first 100 days have flown by.  I now anxiously await the next 100 days to see what opportunities it will bring.
