The American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life” program has always been an important program for our MANN+HUMMEL Filtration Technology team in Gastonia, North Carolina. The event brings communities together to remember loved ones lost, honor survivors, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society make a global impact on cancer.
The 2018 “Relay for Life” season is now complete in Gaston County, and our team has once again made us very proud. Our “Filter Out Cancer” team participated with their heart and soul this year, raising over nearly $21,000 towards Relay for Life.
Since early 2018, our MANN+HUMMEL Filtration Technology locations in North Carolina have been holding fundraising efforts and events to raise money for the cause. Our people enjoy uniting together and it brings us great joy knowing that we are making a difference in our communities. On April 24, MANN+HUMMEL Filtration Technology sponsored a very successful Survivor Dinner, inviting over 100 survivors and their caregivers, family and friends to honor their stories. It was a great night of food, fun and celebrations of life.
As we do every year, our team served smoked turkey legs and Sundrop Slushies, which have become a welcomed tradition at the “Relay for Life” event. We sold out of our famous turkey legs in less than three hours! We’d like to send a big thank you to everyone in MANN+HUMMEL Filtration Technology that donated to the cause, served on the planning committee, as well as those who helped in our food tent.
We are a model team when it comes to our passion and volunteering spirit, as we always have so many willing people to help make this event a great one. Thanks to all our MANN+HUMMEL Filtration Technology team members who support this important cause and made this an event to remember!
